Cosmed Academy & Our Training Team

Established in 2018, Cosmed Academy is a medical aesthetics training academy in Central Dublin, offering Training Courses and Training Pathways delivered by experienced Doctors and Nurses. We provide CPD-accredited, fully insurable, hands-on training for medical and healthcare professionals, alongside selected courses for qualified skin therapists.

Our Training Philosophy

At Cosmed Academy, we recognise that clinical expertise and patient safety are paramount. However, we also recognise that building a successful career in medical aesthetics also requires a degree of business acumen.

We strive to deliver both through our training programmes. Our trainers’ primary goal is to deliver the highest standard of clinical teaching. However, as our trainers also run successful medical aesthetics practices themselves, they bring invaluable first-hand experience and practical business insights to their teaching, providing delegates with a well-rounded training experience that extends beyond clinical knowledge.

Anna Gunning, Cosmed

Our Founder & Clinical Director

Anna Gunning

Anna Gunning is an experienced aesthetic Nurse and established medical aesthetics business owner, with over 24 years of clinical experience. As founder and former owner of the successful Laser & Skin Clinic group, Anna brings extensive clinical, training and business experience to Cosmed Academy, which she established in 2018.

Having built and managed a successful medical aesthetics clinic group, Anna understands the importance of combining clinical excellence with sound business decisions. Today, she oversees the development of Cosmed Academy, working alongside an experienced faculty of Doctors and Nurses to deliver CPD-accredited medical aesthetics training.

Our Expert Medical Trainers

Our training faculty brings together experienced Doctors and Nurses from across medical aesthetics, each with their own areas of clinical expertise. From Foundation training through to Advanced techniques and specialist masterclasses, delegates learn directly from medical professionals actively practising in medical aesthetics, with a strong emphasis on patient safety, clinical skill and hands-on practical training, complemented by first-hand business knowledge and experience.

  I completed the microneedling and exosome course with Cosmed. I found it very good. Mary, the trainer is excellent- very knowledgeable, experienced and clear. The practical experience of using the different devices and exosome products was invaluable. I would recommend doing a course here.

  The PRP training day delivered by COSMED Skin was one of the most professional, informative and clinically useful courses I have attended in along time….

The day struck the perfect balance between the science of platelet-rich plasma and the practical skills required to safely and effectively incorporate PRP into clinical practice. The teaching was evidence-based, engaging and delivered by Anna, who has 20 years of  real-world experience. Every aspect of the course was exceptionally well organised, from the theoretical content to the hands-on training sessions.

What impressed me most was the emphasis on patient safety, treatment protocols, patient selection and achieving consistent clinical outcomes. The trainer Anna, was approachable, knowledgeable and generous with her expertise . Every attendee received individual attention.

The practical component was outstanding and left me feeling confident to implement what I had learned immediately. It was clear that Cosmed Skin is committed not only to teaching techniques but to developing competent, safe and successful practitioners.

I would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending COSMED Skin to doctors, nurses and healthcare professionals seeking high-quality PRP training. An excellent educational experience delivered to the highest standard.

  Amazing day of training in skin boosters with Anna. Anna is a wealth of knowledge and a great teacher. The course was very hands on and covered numerous different skin boosters and protocols for administration. By the end of the day, I left with confidence and competance in skin boosters.   I recently completed my Foundation Botulinum Toxin Course with Dr. Madonna and it was such an incredible learning experience. I feel very lucky to have had the opportunity to gain ample hands-on experience, especially as I was the only trainee at the time. Dr. Madonna was extremely professional, patient, and supportive throughout the course, creating such a comfortable and encouraging learning environment. I learned so much, both practically and theoretically and left feeling far more confident in my skills.
