Microneedling can also be called skin-needling or collagen induction therapy. It is a non-invasive, non-surgical, and non-ablative procedure for facial and body rejuvenation that involves the use of a needling device to create a controlled skin injury.

Microneedling is considered to be one of the safest skin rejuvenation treatments currently available.

The basic premise behind “microneedling” is to stimulate the production of new collagen by needling the skin. Taking advantage of the skin’s ability to heal itself, microneedling causes micro-injuries to the epidermis, which signals the body to produce collagen to remodel the damaged area which in effect rejuvenates the skin making the skin look younger and fresher.

As each fine needle on the device punctures the skin, it creates a channel or micro-wound. The controlled injury triggers the body to fill these micro-wounds by the production of collagen and elastin in the papillary dermis. In addition, new capillaries are formed. This neovascularisation and neocollagenesis following treatment leads to the reduction of scars and skin rejuvenation, i.e., improved skin texture, firmness and hydration.

Microneedling is a non-invasive skin rejuvenation treatment and can be used for facial and body areas for concerns such as ageing skin, fine lines, wrinkles, acne scarring, burn and surgical scarring and stretch marks. This treatment can be offered to clients as a stand-alone skin rejuvenation treatment or can be combined with other non-surgical treatments for optimal results which is another fantastic benefit of adding Microneedling to your aesthetic clinic.

(Proof of registration is required at the time of booking), please bring photo evidence driving license or passport along to the session for verification.

  • Delegate competencies will be assessed at the end of the course day by our trainers
  • On successful completion of the course, delegates will receive a certificate of training, which is Insurer-Approved.
  • Should any delegate fail to meet the requirements on the day, they will be invited to attend further training in order to continue to build their skills to the required level. (Please note; this would be at an additional cost to the delegate)
  • The course day is designed for excellent hands-on experience with close supervisory support and guidance.

Microneedling can treat an array of skin conditions such as ageing skin, superficial lines and wrinkles, crepey skin, uneven skin texture, acne scarring, burn and surgical scarring and stretch marks.

We train delegates to use a 1mm needle length for a face treatment. For body treatments we train you to use 2mm. (Beauty therapists will need to check with their insurance providers what needle length they are covered to use.)

Yes, you are required to bring your own model.

  • Yes. During the practical session, the delegate will take part in the assessment and treatment of a patient under the supervision of the tutor.
  • Each delegate is required to bring their own model to assess and treat.

You will receive all course material (treatment plan, medical history, pre and post care, examples) plus certification which will enable you to source insurance.
